The SmartSole consists of smart tech that functions as a GPS, tracker, remote access monitoring, and more. Though it sounds complex, it’s pretty easy to see how it works. On your app, you’ll set up a wireless “Geofencing zone” to keep your loved ones safe.

You’ll get access to the monitoring service subscription brand’s plans with your purchase (for an additional cost), as well as free activation of the monthly plan upon linking your first SmartSole to your account. We’ll dive into the plans a little further down in this MetAlert review.

Like your smartphone, in case of using the GPS SmartSole, users must ensure that it has a data service plan for connectivity to update its location on a map. This data service plan includes your account on the GTX Corp Monitoring Portal, Smart Locator App, and alert notifications sent to you.

While the GPS SmartSole seems like the most important part of what the brand has to offer, their plans are equally as necessary for keeping your loved ones safe. The service plan is auto-renews, and you can cancel or edit your service plan anytime — by all mean — no-contract service plan.

MetAlert’s GPS SmartSole is a rechargeable tracking device sealed in a water-resistant shoe insert that can be fitted into a shoe size. Unlike bracelets and other locking devices that can cause anxiety and stress in patients with autism and other such conditions, the GPS SmartSole is simply placed in one’s shoes, which will harm no one.

After you set up an account on GTX’s website, you can have access to the following features:

The GPS SmartSoles works wherever T-Mobile 4G coverage is available — although you don’t need to be a T-Mobile user to use the device. The GPS SmartSoles has a battery life of 1 to 2 days with normal use, and it even alerts caregivers by email or text notifications when the battery is low.

GPS SmartSole comes in 3 different sizes. Small fits a child size 3-4 up to a women’s size 11, and a men’s size 9.5. The Medium fits a women’s size 10-14 and a men’s 8-12. The Largest size fits a man’s shoe, size 12-15.

According to customer surveys, although the GPS SmartSole is noticeably thicker than a typical insole, most wearers do not report any difference in their footwear and find them comfortable. For caregivers, you may loosen the lacing/straps of the shoe to allow for the added thickness of the insole.

As of right now, MetAlert only offers shipping within the US (including Hawaii and Alaska with an adjusted rate) and is expanded to Canada. International shipping is currently unavailable unless it’s a wholesale order.

All orders are placed in under 2 business days, and you will get tracking numbers by email when the order has been placed. The brand recommends using tracked shipping, and it is your responsibility to track your delivery packages to ensure safe receipt of packages.
